This is a continuation of my logs of phone banking. I created a previous diary of my first phone banking experience for the Harris/Walz campaign which also was gauging the Senate race for MI here.
I did some more phone banking today and it went a bit better than last time. I didn’t run into Muslim callers. I did run into a lot of hang-ups and wrong numbers. This is very normal late in the campaign. Their database is trying to get as many low-propensity voters as they can. Even with this knowledge, I got in touch with about 8-10 or so in one hour and they were overwhelmingly Harris Walz voters.
I ran into one that would not budge. Whatever.
I ran into one that would not say who they were voting for.
I ran into one that would not vote. Not much I could do even though I tried.
I ran into a couple that we most likely going to vote for Harris, but it took a little convincing.
There was one who only spoke Spanish (he was Puerto Rican), so he wasn’t sure about what to do. He put his mother on the phone. She said he was definitely going to vote for Kamala and it would happen. I thanked her very much. Told her don’t let anyone tell her that she’s not a citizen (They are!!!) and bid her a lovely weekend.
I think that the database needs to be updated a bit, but overall, a pretty good day.
This is not 2016. People seem energized to me.

The rally today in NYC is also going to come back to haunt the campaign. If Trump loses FL, this will be one of the reasons why (refer to earlier in the diary on my PR convo) …
