Is Donald Trump Going to Skate?

First, let me say that I am not a troll. Please feel free to look at my mojo and browse my diaries and comments. I do not write this happily. I don’t want Donald Trump dead, but I do want to see Donald Trump frog-marched out of the White House bawling his eyes out over how he got caught. I want to see his wife, Melania, leaving that place a day or two later beaming with happiness now that she is no longer in what Chelsea Clinton once called the “big white prison.” I want to see Republican politicians running with shame from reporters trying to get them on record as to what they think of that momentous event.

Unfortunately, an article today from the Washington Post fills me with the possibility that, as always, Donald Trump just misses being caught by the length of a fingernail. Meanwhile, others will go to jail instead of him. He will keep gathering emoluments for as long as we keep him at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III informed President Trump’s attorneys last month that he is continuing to investigate the president but does not consider him a criminal target at this point, according to three people familiar with the discussions.

In private negotiations in early March about a possible presidential interview, Mueller described Trump as a subject of his investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. Prosecutors view someone as a subject when that person has engaged in conduct that is under investigation but there is not sufficient evidence to bring charges.

The special counsel also told Trump’s lawyers that he is preparing a report about the president’s actions while in office and potential obstruction of justice, according to two people with knowledge of the conversations.

Mueller told Trump’s attorneys the president remains under investigation but is not currently a criminal target” by Carol Leonnig and Robert Costa, Washington Post 4/3/2018

That first sentence is a key one. The last one is also key (because it also doesn’t rule anything out), but the first one is the big deal.

This could be bait, but something tells me that Trump has covered his tracks well enough that he can’t be directly implicated in a crime of collusion or obstruction. Unless, of course, he talks.

In the article, it does allude to the possibility that this is a ploy to get him to testify. If he does, he will could then become indictable. The problem is that no lawyer worth two-cents would allow him to do that. If you have a good hand then stand pat. It looks like this will make him look bad, but he won’t be indicted.

If he does testify, then he is actually dumber than he looks. It will be released and it will make him look worse than he does already. I pray that this will happen. I would give up parts of my anatomy for this to happen.

I would give up coffee.

We need to listen to people like Egberto Willies and start to hit him on what he is doing to destroy this country, starting with that crappy tax cut to gun control all the way to how he is tearing apart families by limiting their access to health care. Oh, yeah. And then there’s Vlad.

We can still hurt him in November, 2018. We need to.

After all, he still sucks as a president.
